Shims
Shims are used to take-up space. Regardless of
the manufacturing technique or the product being manufactured,
there always seems to be voids in the final assembly that must
be filled before everything can be torqued into place.
Shims are used to fill that void. Shims must be manufactured
to meet stringent specifications and tolerances. Flatness
requirements, surface finish, parallelism, all must be considered
in their design.
Since 1959, OGS has been an industry leader in
manufacturing high performance shims. From aircraft engines,
to transmissions, pumps and compressors, heavy machinery
and construction equipment, our shims have met industry challenges.
In addition to standard shim thicknesses, OGS manufactures
a full range of laminated and edge-bonded shims. From brass, steel,
stainless steel and aluminum, our laminated shims help reduce
repair costs. Our edge-bonded shims are manufactured to your
specifications for those applications that cannot have
surface contamination.
