That’s why we’re proud to serve as the home of Akron CNC Training Center, a state-registered vocational training facility that has been preparing skilled machinists since 2008.
This partnership brings together OGS’s six decades of manufacturing expertise with Akron CNC’s comprehensive 272-hour certificate program in CNC Programming and Operation of Machine Tools. By hosting classes at our machining facility, we provide students with access to real-world equipment and working production environments that prepare them for successful careers in precision manufacturing.
Real-World Experience at OGS Facilities
Training at a working manufacturing facility gives students an advantage. At OGS, Akron CNC Training Center students learn the same types of equipment they’ll use in their careers, from CNC vertical mills and lathes to Swiss screw machines. This hands-on approach, combined with excellent student-to-teacher ratios, helps the program maintain its industry-leading placement rate, with many students receiving job offers before graduation.
